March 8 – - Halden Wofford and the Hi*Beams (Center for Musical Arts – 200 E. Baseline Rd., Lafayette)
Halden Walford and the high BeamsHalden Wofford and the Hi*Beams’ throwback and stylish take on the honky tonk genre is a breath of fresh air amidst other wannabe retro acts. With some of the choicest players on the Front Range and a professionalism that is bar-none, the Hi Beams landed themselves on the famed NPR show “A Prairie Home Companion” in recent years and Wofford’s distinct vocals continue to garner the band well-earned attention.Marquee Magazine, Boulder, CO.

 

April 12 – Wil Swindler’s Elevenet (Center for Musical Arts – 200 E. Baseline Rd., Lafayette)
WillSwindlerThe Elevenet is composer and saxophonist Wil Swindler‘s newest musical project. This unique ensemble, comprised of both improvisers and classical musicians, follows in the tradition of jazz great Gil Evans and his compositions for groups of 9-12 musicians. The group consists of two saxophones, bass clarinet, flute, 2 trumpets, trombone/euphonium, french horn, piano/gtr, bass, and drums. The musical material consists of original jazz compositions by Swindler as well as adaptations and arrangements of music from Gil Evans, Björk, the Beatles, and many more.

  • In Person (May 19, 2014): Visit us at the Chautauqua Box Office  located in the kiosk on the Chautauqua grounds, Monday-Friday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and 1 p.m. thru intermission on concert days.
