The Orchestra Games
Composed & Narrated by Gregory Smith – This playful concert is for the music lover in all of us!
Saturday, June 28 & Monday, June 30 at 10 am
Chautauqua Auditorium, Boulder
Designed for kids ages 4 & up; Fun for the whole family! Not just a get to know the instruments piece, The Orchestra Games goes further by exploring the personalities of the various instruments while acquainting the listener with basic musical elements as it sprints through an Olympic array of events. The work begins with a ceremonial introduction of the players and then romps through various events such as the low note limbo, the fast note dash, the marathon and others. These events demonstrate the capabilities of orchestral instruments while keeping the audience happily engaged in the friendly competition.
After each concert, join us on the lawn for a Music Fair where kids can meet real live ferrets, costumed characters, try the instrument petting zoo, enjoy face painting, balloon tying, snacks and more!
