SINGERS

 Scott Joiner, Tenor - has been praised for his “rich and colorful tenor voice” (Biltmore Beacon), his “communicative singing,” (Asheville Citizen-Times) as well as his “firmly anchored vocalism and expressive use of tone” (Masterworks Review). Among many upcoming projects, Joiner returns to the Asheville Symphony’s 2012/2013 Season as the tenor soloist in the Mozart Requiem and Handel’s Messiah.  He will also appear in concert for the Colorado Music Festival. As a principal artist with Asheville Lyric Opera, Joiner has sung nine roles over four seasons, including those of Ferrando, Nemorino, Tamino, Frederic, and Goro in addition to numerous recitals and concerts. So far this season, in addition to performing in Shakespeare Sings! directed by Francis Cullinan, Joiner was heard as Ferrando in Cosi fan Tutte with ALO, in selections from West Side Story with Asheville Symphony and in recital with his wife, soprano Colette Boudreaux.  LISTEN>>

 Colette Boudreaux, Soprano - won “deserved ovations” for her 2007 performance at New York’s Verdi Square Festival according to the New York Times . That same year, she made her Carnegie Hall debut as L’Innocente in a concert version of L’Arlesiana with Opera Orchestra of New York. She has performed with Asheville Lyric Opera, Lyric Opera Cleveland, Brevard Music Center, Grandview Opera, the American Musical Theater Ensemble, and was featured in the Artists Recital Series at New York’s renowned St. John the Divine Cathedral. In 2008 she won Third Prize in the Regional Finals of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Most recently, Ms. Boudreaux performed for the upcoming feature film, “Sol”. In early 2011, Ms. Boudreaux performed as a featured jazz soloist in a benefit concert at the Historic Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville. Other performances for the upcoming season include appearances with Asheville Lyric Opera and The Henderson Arts Council. In 2008 Ms. Boudreaux performed under the direction of Tony and Emmy Award-winning director/choreographer, George Faison at the Inaugural Gala of New Yorks Faison Firehouse Theatre in an event honoring poet Dr. Maya Angelou. Opera Tickets, Dinner and a Broadway Show!
Dress up and grab a cab to Lincoln Center and sit in the best seats in the house on January 21, 2013 for the Metropolitan Opera’s performance of Le Comte Ory, a comic opera by Rossini. Moab Music Festival

Opera Junket with the Maestro
CMF Music Director Michael Christie became music director of the Minnesota Opera in January of 2012. He is also guest-conducting operas in Philadelphia and San Francisco during the 2012-2013 seasons.
