Early Childhood Studies

Music Together Music TogetherAll children are naturally musical!  There are a range of offerings for the earliest beginners through age 6.  While the child is having fun singing, listening, moving, and playing rhythm instruments, he/she is also developing an understanding of specific musical concepts such as high/low, fast/slow, soft/loud, steady beat, and beginning pitch matching, as well as valuable social and concentration skills.  Now’s the time to give children the best musical beginning!

Music Together® is an internationally recognized, research based, early childhood music program for toddlers, pre-schoolers, and the adults who love them.

In a Music Together®-Mixed Age class, participants experience songs, rhythmic rhymes, movement, and instrument play. Activities are presented as playful, non-performance oriented musical experiences that are developmentally appropriate for children and easy for parents and caregivers, regardless of their own musical ability. Children are given the freedom to participate as they choose and caregivers are encouraged to continue the musical learning at home by listening to the CDs and enjoying musical play. Infants 8 months and under may attend classes for free with an enrolled sibling. Family and friends are always welcome to visit. Each class will feature a different instrument “family.” Students will see, hear, and have the opportunity to play each instrument!
